Here's a shot of the original '40 Speaker grill.  Because we narrowed the dash to fit in the confines of the '32, this grill cannot be used.  The solution was to scratch make one to fit.



First we cut up some key stock, 1/8" and 3/16", and made up a couple of matched curved pieces with milled slots in them.  We slightly grind the edges for a nice finished look.  We'll make this similiar to making a front grill.


The tedius task of adding them one at a time, TIG welding them from the backside.  Care is taken so there's no warpage and they stay perfectly in line with on another.


Here's the finished unit, readly for the plater.
Here it's mounted in the dash - hopefully it will appear as the stock unit.
